LAKE FOREST, CALIF. OCTOBER 18, 2009 Based in Lake Forest, California the Dynamic Autosports / Hankook Tire Drift Team competed on 17th of October in the Formula Drift Season Finals at Toyota Speedway. Known as The House of Drift, Toyota Speedway features some of the highest entry speeds in the entire series, a sold out crowd and the highest level of competition as this course is home ground for many of the top tier teams including the Dynamic Autosports / Hankook Tire 350Z Drift Team.
With tickets sold out for the event, Toyota Speedway undisputedly brings the largest crowd and hosts the largest professional drift event in North America. With the cars dialed in, the event looked to be a strong performance for the Dynamic Autosports / Hankook Tire 350Z with C-West Aero. During the Top 32 Qualifier, Robbie Nishida was able to qualify successfully into the top 32. Robbie Nishida driver of the Dynamic Autosports / Hankook Tire Nissan 350z qualified in 10th place overall with a score of 78.3.
In the first round for the Top 16 qualifier Robbie Nishida paired up with seasoned D1 Japan driver Katsuhiro Ueo. In round one of the tandem run, Robbie took the lead down the Toyota straight into turn one. He pulled away as Ueo tried to catch up hits the wall on the inner portion of the course. In round 2 of the tandem runs, Robbie chased the seasoned D1 driver down the back stretch into the first turn and maintained his distance from his competitor, Ueo initiated early but Robbie stayed on the throttle and closely chased Ueo. This earned him the win and a position in the Top 16 main event.
In the Top 16 Robbie faced the 2009 Overall Formula Drift Champion Chris Forsberg.

With Forsberg leading in the first run, Robbie mirrored the line of this years champion, staying pinned onto the rear quarter panel of Forsberg and finished the run with a strong performance. In the next run Robbie took off in his Dynamic Autosports built motor and pulled away from Forsberg sealing the win for Robbie, moving him onto the next round.
Having moved onto the Great 8 portion of the competition, Robbie faced this years second place overall winner Ryan Tuerek. In round one Ryan led with Robbie chasing closely behind as they exit the first bank, entering the transition Robbie continued to maintain his close chase and finished off the run with a strong score and performance.
In round 2 Robbie led into corner one and initiated into a deep angle across the entire bank, and after some deliberation the judges called for a One More Time. In the first round of the One More Time, Robbie stayed bumper to bumper with Tuerek through the entire course. In the second round Robbie led with Tuerek giving chase. As they entered the first corner Robbie entered the bank at full speed ending and finished strong, but the judges deemed that Tuerek was the winner of the battle.

The 2009 season of Formula Drift ended successfully for the C-West sponsored Hankook Tire 350Z with consistent strong performances. The Hankook Tire / Dynamic Autosports driver finished with strong positions at the end of the season. Robbie Nishida finished in 8th place overall out of the 48 professional drivers in the series. Also a special congratulation to Eddie Kim the Owner/Manager of the Dynamic Autosports / Hankook Tire Drift Team for having won the coveted Team Manager of the Year Award from Formula Drift.
